Today we've heard from the Orange County Sheriff's Department lead investigator John Allen in the disappearance of Caylee Anthony confirming that FBI and OCSD evidence points to a dead body in her mother's car and that this body was the body of Caylee Anthony. Naturally, this lends a new perspective of the family and their actions over the last several days since they more than likely discovered this information when the FBI, the State Attorney's office, and OCSD met with Jose Baez last week: this is the meeting where Casey left Baez's office after 10 minutes and her mother stayed for some time in the office with them.
What's truly disturbing is that the family continues to make statements in the eyes of a public that already views them totally negatively and culpable in Caylee's disappearance. It's almost like the family wants to control all the information about the case, which is both highly unreasonable and incredibly naive. The statements the family are making are ones THEY are making, not the media as the grandmother would infer: the problem is you tell people to "get off their asses and find Caylee" when you appear not to be doing anything at all to find your missing granddaughter/niece yourself, the sensible public asks "WTF, are you serious?" Portraying yourself as combative, angry, demeaning and closed in your statements means you will automatically alienate a public who can carry their compassion for you so far before feeling insulted. This appears to have made it's mark in the number of volunteers turning out for the Texas EquuSearch searching yesterday and today -- TES spokesmen have made this comment to the media as the reason for lower volunteer turnout than expected.
Compounding all of this, we have the fact that your daughter/sister, Anthony family, is not telling authorities about where her daughter is and you have stated to the media that YOU haven't talked with her about it. Instead, you appear to have made one statement to the press and the public in one breath about her telling you the truth if she was out on bail, and in another, you know that your daughter/sister is so lying her ass off that you can't see you can't see your way for all the piles of bullshit she's spread in your path. It makes one think that the family doesn't want to know the truth. It's easier to deny the reality you already suspect, rather than to make the right choice to act accordingly to respond your daughter's behavior. It also makes us, the public, less able or unable to understand, support, and grieve with you. That's why you had people protesting in front of your house and contrary to your family view, the public is not stupid and they care about the mistake you're making.
The grandmother believes that Casey's civil rights were violated when she was arrested and escorted from the home Friday night on economic crime charges. The thing is, law enforcement did not have to tell her attorney nor her mother about these charges: Casey is an adult, of legal age, and her mother is not her guardian even though she may reside in the Anthony home. It's so time for Casey Anthony to be treated by her family as an adult, because not only is that what she is, it's also what she wanted in attempting to move out from their home. Time for the family to let Casey be the adult she is, and stop the incessant statements where THEY take the responsibility inadvertently in the public's perception for her behavior on themselves. Why? Because you'll never get to the truth and this time next year, you'll still be torturing yourself and believing Caylee is with someone else. Let law enforcement and Casey's attorney deal with Casey -- and stop being the venue from which your attorney speaks. Let him speak himself for your daughter. You speak for your granddaughter/niece and leave the daughter/sister out of your statements. Perhaps then you will have the support we desperately want to be able to give you.
